Location: Atlanta, GA
Part Time: 10-20 hours/month

Job Summary:
The Ponix Ag-Tech Associate will assist in overseeing the Ponix Farm by managing production, maintaining indoor farming equipment, and ensuring the year-round distribution of food (365 days of growing with Ponix!).
This role requires a highly organized and efficient individual capable of managing operations using sustainable farming practices and systems to maintain a productive, clean, and safe indoor farm. The Ponix Ag-Tech Associate will collaborate with the Farm Manager to set weekly and monthly priorities, ensuring farm goals are consistently met.

Assist in creating and managing a diversified crop production plan of vegetables and herbs to reach our annual goal of 12,000 lbs of produce while managing and enhancing farm health and fertility through sustainable practices.
Provide ongoing maintenance for farm infrastructure and space.
Support in conducting farm inventory and preparing harvest reports, crop plans, sales projections and actuals.
Help manage sales to local restaurants, retail, wholesale outlets, and farmer’s markets.
Work with food service and restaurant vendors to build a cadence for produce fulfillment.
Provide farm tours to community members.
Internship Project:
In the Ag-Tech Associate position at Ponix Farms, you’ll have the chance to experiment with growing a new crop type on Ponix Grow Systems. This project will let you explore innovative, sustainable farming techniques and diversify our crop production. You’ll conduct research, set up growth conditions, and monitor the new crop’s performance, gaining hands-on experience with hydroponics.
Collaborating with the Farm Manager, you’ll integrate this crop into our production plan, enhancing your skills in managing an advanced urban farm and contributing to our annual produce goals.
Qualifications:
Those pursuing a degree in Ecology, Urban Planning, Architecture, Agriculture or those with a passion for food, community, and sustainability are encouraged to apply.

Compensation:
$1,500 stipend per semester
